ZONE-LO
Overview
The ZONE-LO provides access to a linelevel audio output signal*. You can access the signal via a front panel RCA connector, typically used to connect to analog amplifiers.

Installation
The device can mount to a wall using the four keyhole features located at the corners of the device, with wall anchors appropriate to the installation surface. Power the device with PoE or PoE+, connected via an Ethernet cable to the PoE input. With power applied, the green Power LED on the front panel will illuminate.
NOTE: ANetD products require an IEEE 802.3af/at/bt compatible switch or injector to correctly classify and supply the power needed for our devices. Use of non-standard PoE powering schemes (such as 24V passive PoE) may cause damage and void your warranty.
Setup and Use
Warning: Make sure to turn off equipment when making connections, and to set audio equipment volume to a low value before powering on to avoid any audio “pop” in the output.
The ANetD ZONE-LO works with a wide variety of amplifiers. Please refer to the technical documentation for your speaker product when connecting to the audio input.
Line Level Output
The RCA connection provides an unbalanced line-level output, typically used to connect to analog amplifiers. This output activates automatically any time the ZONE-LO receives audio streams. More detailed specifications include: 10k Ohm, unbalanced, 2Vpp line-level output.
Amplifier Interface
ANetD Zone Line Out Controllers work with a wide variety of amplifiers. Please refer to the technical documentation for your specific product when connecting the audio input.

Cables and Adapters
Unbalanced Amplifier Input
The ZONE-LO includes an RCA audio linelevel output port, enabling use of a standard male-to-male RCA cable for unbalanced amplifier inputs. You can purchase this item off-the-shelf from a variety of electronics stores
Balanced Amplifier Input
If the amplifier only features balanced inputs, then the recommended use of XLR works as the most straightforward method of adapting the unbalanced audio output from the ZONE-LO. We recommend a short RCA cable and a longer XLR cable whenever possible due to the enhanced noise rejection on the XLR. These two tested RCA-to-XLR adapter options proved to work.

If no XLR input exists on the amplifier, you could possibly adapt an XLR connector to interface to the amplifier.
As an example, the cable below connects an XLR adapter to the balanced input of an amplifier using a 3-position terminal block. However, if the amplifier uses screw terminals, there is no need to use a terminal block. Please refer to the audio input specifications of the amplifier in use to determine the correct wiring solution.

Alternatively, if not using XLR connections, Bogen makes a RCA-to-screw terminal balanced signal transformer (the WMT1A), which many vendors offer separately for purchase.
After connecting the ZONE-LO to the audio destination via the RCA connection, power on both the ZONE-LO and the external audio equipment.
Increase the volume control of the audio destination to 75% of the max volume. Configure the ZONE-LO volume as follows:
- If using the web page interface, select Device Settings → Audio. Set the Speaker/Line-Out Volume to 8.0 per Figure 1 below and then click the Save Audio Changes button.
- If using a configuration file, update the volume parameter in the SIPConfig tag as shown below, save the file, then reboot the ZONE-LO.

Send audio to the ZONE-LO over the network, and verify the audio broadcasts at reasonable levels at the destination output. Adjust the volume settings accordingly. Available volume range: 0.0 - 13.0.
