Device Firmware Updates

Update the firmware for a device or group of devices. For the latest available firmware and downloads, access the customer portal.

Configure an ANetD Device as a SIP Device

Configure an ANetD device to act as a SIP device that can interact with a SIP server.

Activating Flashers

Activate the flashing indicator lights on an ANetD IP display device via associated Priorities, SIP calls, or ClockWise Campus software functionality.

SIP Device in Cisco Unified CM

Add an ANetD device as a SIP Device in Cisco Call Manager.

Configuration File Validation

Access the Portal for this guide.

Priority Option Settings

Configure Priority Option Settings, otherwise called the Low Priority Ignore feature, which can help limit text display and mute audio on devices in a desired area.

Sound Masking

Use the built-in sound masking capabilities on an ANetD device.

External Speaker Interface

Connect a second speaker to an ANetD device.

Restrict Access to Device Web Interface via SNMP

Access the Portal for this guide.

Paging Message Interrupt

Set up a continuous scrolling message to pause for the duration of an audio page, and then automatically resume.

Analog Clock Synchronization

Synchronize time on analog clocks using a ZONEC2 Zone Controller as the Master Clock.

LLDP-MED Configuration with Cisco Switch

Integrate ANetD devices on a voice VLAN using LLDP-MED.

MOBOTIX

Interface an ANetD device with a Mobotix Q25M camera.

Polycom

Configure and control communication between ANetD devices and Polycom phones.

Analog Clock Customization

Devices with HD LCD screens can display a fully customizable analog clock, including the background and hands, as an alternative to the digital clock.

Using Configuration Files

XML configuration files let you efficiently mass-provision AND devices with customizable settings, detailed in the Customer Portal manual or the “Exploring XML” section.

Multicast Network Configuration

ClockWise Campus uses multicast to stream audio and auto-discover ANetD devices, with this app note providing Cisco configuration guidance and reminders to check switch compatibility.

Attaching Ferrite Core

Attach the ferrite core for a device.

InformaCast Quick Start

Natively integrate with InformaCast for seamless device control and event triggering.

Trigger ClockWise Alerts with InformaCast

Configure InformaCast to trigger an alert or notification already created in ClockWise Campus, enabling easy access to a wider range of customization for alert characteristics.

Using Message Priorities with InformaCast

Use AND message priority actions with Singlewire InformaCast software.

Configuring Device for InformaCast Advanced M2M

Configure an AND device to use InformaCast Machine-to-Machine (M2M) technology, which enables an AND device triggered by an event like a contact closure input to transmit a message to InformaCast for triggering alerts.

Inline Text Message Markup

Define text fonts, colors, shadows, and flashing, as well as LED flasher behavior for AND display devices within InformaCast and other compatible third-party software.

OnBoard Messages

Store text messages and pixel graphics directly on a device, making easy to trigger for immediate display from a third-party application or as initiated by a general purpose input signal.

OnBoard Sound Playback

Store audio files of sounds and pre-recorded messages directly on a device, making easy to trigger from a SIP call or a third-party application or as initiated by a general purpose input signal.

Background Images with InformaCast

AND devices can display static images hosted on an InformaCast server, with best results using supported file types resized to the 1920×720 resolution, as outlined in this app note on uploading and configuring images.

Dynamic Images with InformaCast

Dynamic background images can be hosted on an InformaCast server for AND device notifications, with best results at 1920×720 resolution, using either Inline Text Message Markup or Notification Profile Icons.

Device Firmware Updates with informants

Updates to ANetD IP displays and speakers add new features and network support, with firmware available for download through the AND Customer Portal.

Registering a SIP Intercom in InformaCast

AND devices registered to an InformaCast server can also be linked to the built-in SIP service, enabling paging, intercom, and DialCast-triggered messaging.

We recommend the use of configuration files to provision devices. Configuration files establish the settings for all ANetD IP devices on a network, including settings common to all the devices, as well as specific settings unique to specific devices. Some of the settings include:

  • NTP Config – sets how the device will synchronize time to the network
  • Display – sets colors, brightness, font, and other display parameters for the date, clock, and other messaging
  • SIP Config – sets parameters associated with using the devices as SIP endpoints
  • Microphone – sets parameters for the built-in mic
  • GPIO – sets parameters for how the device interacts with general purpose inputs and outputs
  • LineIn – sets the parameters of a signal coming into the line-in connection
  • Flashers – sets the default behavior of the three flashing indicator lights on the front of the device
  • Priorities – sets how flashers and GPIO behave for different priority messages
  • Other settings include firmware location, server registration parameters, temperature checks, and more…
