Advanced Network Devices (AND) is a wholly owned subsidiary of DDC offering a comprehensive portfolio of PoE endpoints. We are the leader in the design and production of IP endpoint devices for mass notification systems. Our devices are installed throughout the US, and in international locales, within a wide range of facilities, in markets from education, healthcare, and government to corporate and industrial. 

Position Summary: At DDC, we see multimedia design as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires. We are looking for a highly creative graphic artist who can take conceptual ideas and create visual representations in print and electronic media. Our ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to the final deliverable. 

Collaborating with multiple teams at our company, the multimedia designer should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project and inspire and attract the target audiences.

Objectives of this role:

  • Work on a wide range of projects and media, using various computer software to visualize and develop innovative designs that meet business goals
  • Obtain input from management, ensuring designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the company or internal client appropriately
  • Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with marketing team, meeting deadlines and budget constraints, and scheduling project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep knowledge of the AND and DDC brands and industries to apply across all work
  • Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams for a wide range of materials that may include promotional materials, web pages, presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communication, newsletters, and marketing materials
  • Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity
  • Develop concepts by hand or with software, and execute original content determining ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout
  • Manage the design and uploading process of all project material, understanding best practices 
  • Use trend intelligence and an understanding of the current and historical business and market to design and execute specific classifications
  • Give and receive feedback generously while advocating for quality
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Brainstorm with the marketing team to develop new ideas
  • Organize content to be used within/across all brand channels
  • Lead effective presentations that create excitement and demonstrate how the creative process delivers on the strategy
  • Be resourceful; leverage existing assets when appropriate
  • Proactively ideate entrepreneurial ideas to push brand boundaries and innovation
  • Examine existing processes, identify flaws and create solutions to improve design capabilities
  • Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, and video

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience at an agency or in-house creative team
  • 5+ years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.
  • Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
  • Proven experience with graphic design, with a strong portfolio of work
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Solution-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Brings a high level of energy and enthusiasm to the team
  • Passionate about learning new skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, or similar discipline
  • Working knowledge of video editing software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects)
  • Working knowledge of web design programs (CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript)
  • Knowledge of content management systems a plus
  • Photography and video experience and proficiency with editing software
  • Desire to continue to grow skillset with ongoing education and training

Pay Scale and Benefits:Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000 per year. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
